  • when i hear the sound it feels like it's about to explode :(

  • You think that is loud? You can't sit in the same room with mine when it starts buzzing. Thinking maybe some clock oil

  • I have really good speakers and I can't hear it either.

  • I've an older samsung that has always had a wheel hum. I have gone through only one lamp so far...I just ordered a new one to get ready for this 3 year old Osram (that was supposed to last only a year) to burn out.

How big of a deal is it to change out the color wheel on an HLS5086W? Surely mine is about to begin a downward spiral.

  • I replaced my noisy color wheel successfully but the noise you shared with us was not the noise I had. Mine was a loud steady hum. I think the bearing failure can create a variety of noises - all bad!

  • ya he replacement had improved bearings

they went to an air bearing

if you werent real careful with this you broke it

  • @jeremysgonenorth

I replaced my samsung with a mitsubishi and have a high pitched noise as well. had the color wheel replaced, ballast replaced... my last thing to try is a new lamp before I give up.

    have a wd-65837

  • hell, I put a cple drops of high grade motor lubricant on mine, and the squealing stopped.
