Rapid sequence landing of a flight of F-18 Hornets RWY 30 wind 25 knots gust to 35 knots at 280. RAAF base Williamtown 10/6/09. We saw about 28 movements in 30 minutes filming this sequence. Some seperations were routinely down to 15 - 18 seconds in sequences we filmed. We enjoyed the 70-80 degree turns in the circuit! They must have a lot of speed to burn off..

  • Great airport - mixed civilian and military - you can catch a plane to anywhere in Australia and sit and watch the F 18's while you wait!

  • Note the bird strike risk on late final, and also the ? Hawk trainers all lined up in the run-up Bay ready for line-up.
