A HPS, Hobie Power Skiff used as a flats boat for fishing the shallow flats, lagoons, and bayous that make up Florida's Gulf Coast. Hobie stopped making these boats in the 1980s. You don't see many around. They make an excellent flats boat. They run shallow and dry, although more stability would be appreciated. Fully loaded with three anglers, full tank of gas, and all gear, they float in less than 8" and run in the same; if not less.
There's a guy in So Cal (Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area) who is beginning manufacture of these again. I believe that he's re-badged it the Razor Power Skiff and that it will be making its debut in January 2012. I want one!

@thos313 Are you serious? I'd heard some rumors about the mold, or one very similar to it, being manufactured again. I never tracked any of those rumors down to a point where they proved true. However, what I heard involved their manufacture in Florida. It makes sense that they'd be made in So Cal. The hull runs shallow, but it really shines in it's ability to handle waves and keep everyone dry and comfortable. Thanks for the info though.
