Zhuge Liang put Guan Yu at the end knowing that he would let Cao Cao go. At that time, Liu Bei's foothold was miniscule, and Cao Cao had much of the power in the north and in the west (yet to lost that area to Liu Bei). Had Cao Cao died, Northern China would've been chaotic similar to the time when they faught Guo Si and Dong Zhuo.

I wish they'd make better movies in terms of fighting sequences... no flying people crap... the bowman in this movie looks painfully obvious that they've never handle a bow before... the soldiers that wield spears looks like if hit the spear even once they'll fly off their hand because they didn't grip it correctly and the balance is all off. It makes rambo and his "I'm 2 inches away from you but your bullet still miss me" sequences look applausable

I agree,furthermore,I don't think that fire attack was the main reason why Cao Cao's army loses this battle.He lost this battle because of the disease(Xie Chong bing)(I don't know how to translate it in English) where most northern people have weak immunity against it.
