rosebud is a symbol of his happiness as a child, before he gets rich and lone, before he left his family.

Yeah ur right. You can only fully appreciate this if you have seen the full film before and recognise the scenes

This was interesting - but I don't think a movie like this can be summed up in 30 seconds, but if it could - they're pretty close.
I thought it was a good movie.

Haha, I DO have an exam on it tomorrow! Thanks for the reminder about what happens :)

lol.. it's a sled, but it was a sidemouthed reference to Marion Davies' genitalia. Orson talked about regretting the usage for years until his death.

Exactly. Orson has said it was a cruel joke on Marion to get at Hearst. Orson was a genius but a difficult one to work with, like a lot of geniuses I guess. He was on a roll, though: Voodoo Macbeth, War of the Worlds, Kane, then it all came crashing down...

Citizen Kane in one sentence:
ROSEBUD IS JUST A FUCKING SLED.

Well, yes, but also... the symbol of Kane's lost childhood, and Marion Davies' clitoris. Welles & Mank sticking it to Hearst. Good film though :-)
