  • wanted some tips on FCPX and so googled... found this link at the top and was surprised to hear ben @ BX FilmsTV haha

    Bruce !

  • @exnehilopictures BRUCE! Hey man! Glad to know the tutorials are being found all around the world! haha!

  • it's great when you work 10 years in a field and the tool maker decides to change everything..

  • @rosstokach My favorite part about how they rolled out the new software is that they let you keep Final Cut Pro 7 on your computer without causing any interruptions with the new version. So all your old files can still be opened in FCP7 while you take the time to learn the new program. I absolutely love the new version of FCP and hope the tutorials help you continue learning your craft!

  • Hi, great tutorials!! I'm shooting a doco at the moment on a 60D. As I understand it you need to convert the files from the camera into Apple Pro Res 422 and then import into FCPX?? Or can you just bring them in straight from the camera? Thanks, Steve.

  • @steveholmes77 Hi Steve! Nope. You can import straight in from any of the Canon cameras. If you prefer to edit in ProRes422, Final Cut Pro X will do that conversion for you, you just have to click the "Optimize Footage" checkbox when you are importing. Hope that helps!

  • @SCOTTW25 Thanks Scott! I'm glad it helped. All the negative press around FCP X got my panties in a bunch, so instead of just thinking those people are silly, I figured I could help show people how to use it.

  • shameless use of cute child...thank you for great lesson!

  • Very good tutorial thank you!

  • Nitpick alert:

It's Final Cut Ten, not 'Ex'.

  • FCPX is perfect for dad to edit family video. More limited than NLE but very useful for basic edits. With good content you could create impressive home movies.

  • hey how to use sequence in pro x

  • Nice video. Thanks!!
