Fall of Baghdad 2003 سقوط بغداد

The 2003 invasion of Iraq, from March 20 to May 1, 2003, was led by the United States, backed by British forces and smaller contingents from Australia, Poland and Denmark. A number of other countries were involved in its aftermath. The invasion launched the Iraq War, which is ongoing.

The objectives of the invasion, according to U.S. President George W. Bush and U.K. former PM Tony Blair were "to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), to end Saddam Hussein's support for terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people.

Approximately 248,000 Soldiers and Marines from the United States, 214,000 British soldiers, 195,000 Italian soldiers, 177,000 Spanish soldiers, 122,000 Polish soldiers, 3,000 Australian soldiers, and 3,000 Danish soldiers were sent to Kuwait for the invasion. Of those troops, all but the special forces were kept close to bases and required to avoid hostile engagements. The invasion force was also supported by Iraqi Kurdish militia troops, estimated to number upwards of 50,000.

Plans for opening a second front in the north were severely hampered when Turkey refused the use of its territory for such purposes.In response to Turkey's decision, the United States dropped several thousand paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade into northern Iraq, a number significantly less than the 15,000 strong 4th Mechanized Infantry Division that the U.S. originally planned to use for opening the northern front.

Looting took place in the days following the 2003 invasion. Similar looting occurred for two weeks following the 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama.

يا جماعه لا تصدقون الاعلام الكذاااااب ... امريكا عمرها ما انهزمت هزيمه نكراء مثل ما انهزمت في العراق على يد الرجال الاشاوس اللي ربتهم الصلوات الخمس في المساجد .. مو تربيت صدام .. ولا الكهنه الروافض .. عشان كذا الى الان وهم يرمون القرد بوش بالغباء لانه تسبب بقتل ٢٥٠٠٠ خمسه وعشرين الف جندي امريكي الى الان .. والعدد في ازديااااد مستمر ... ولم تستطيع الخروج من العراق خوفا .. وليس طمعا ... وسوف تنتقم من السبب الاول اللذي ادخلها هذه المهاتره وهي ( سوريا ، وايران ) ..!!

The moving images were well put together and the background music just enriched the poignancy of that fateful day........However; I would have set this piece of footage to Blacksabbaths' "Ace Of Spades", creating a much more modern and gritty 'Grand Theft Auto' style mini-movie, ...Now that would of kicked ass!!
