The key to defending & getting out of an armbar is knowing seconds before that they are going for the arm.

@scnarb Lmao thai JJ
-
This would work ok, but wtf is thai JJ?

@tombee2 Streets fights are more unpredictable but that doesn't make prize fights not real. Prize fights are just as real as a street, just different. Have you ever competed in a prize fight like MMA or Kickboxing?
-
@tombee2 A prize fight is a real fight.

@Om0plata1 Yeah but still, its still really affective even if the dude is punching. What matters is the top guys posture, not if he's punching. If the top guy has bad posture its easy to armbar him. If the top guy has good posture, the bottom guy can't armbar him, regardles of whether the top guy is punching or not. And the only way for the top guy to punch is if he has good posture. Ya know what Im sayin?

@metalhawj if it was only bjj.. i would say this would have a very high chance of working.. but yea mma would be different.. cuz the guy on top would be punching..

ima use this one next time we do groundwork. I knew this technique by grabbing my wrist to stop him extending my arm, but the reversal is good.

Great stuff!

@metalhawj Agreed, I guess you would have to be half way in the arm bar in order to use this technique.
a video showing one way to POSSIBLY get out of an armbar. It works and the technique is excellently explained.

good defense but in a real situation, its extremely difficult to get out of a armbar because when your opponent gets you, it only takes a split second to get stretch out the arm forcing you to tap.
if it was that easy to get out of, people in mma would probably not use it very often ornot get too many wins wth that move
