Oh dearie committee, is it Sunday night again? *heavy sigh* Still, at least we can spend some time in the company of our beloved Flt Simon Carter. I have a nice cup of hot chocolate sent from home, and two rounds of almost burnt to a crisp toast (I like it like that) I suggest you secure nibbles for yourself and join me for what is another one of my favourite episodes. McCallum contingent rejoice! This is a Carter led one. Robert Wagner fans, sorry but your man escaped and we have no idea where he is, probably London- he'll be back though.

I notice this episode is written by A. Winch, an interesting name to be sure.

Carter is looking unusually sunny with his hair nicely blond and shirt sleeves up. Maybe he's feeling a tad more optimistic. Well...in the exterior shots at least. In the interior ones he's looking all pale and poorly again but overall I believe his general paler is looking more tanned. The escape officer suspects that( this being early in to series two) dear McCallum may have flown back to America and the sunshine during the filming break.

I think his hair has also grown a bit, so is all nice floppy fringe.

The resistance has a ridiculously high death count, I do worry for our secret army friends.

Now, sneaky code breaker knows exactly what he's doing. Manipulating poor little love sick Simon like that. Look at his face at 7:29, he knew all along they were going to pick Cathy, he was just getting Carter to think it was all his idea. It worries me how easily poor little Simon can be used sometimes.

I love secret codes! They're just puzzles waiting to be broken. Such fun. I miss McCallum wearing the lace cuffs and the lacey ascot tie from Kidnapped. He looks so dapper in his Navy uniform, though. He should have brought his portable tanning mat with him, so he wouldn't look so dreadfully pale.

Thanks Shovewood! I'll have to break out my cryptograph book to help me solve the code. Aaaw, Simon does look like a lovesick puppy. Those big soulful eyes choke me up!
