This is a compilation of the 11 clips from the "Pinball Number Count" segments that began appearing on Sesame Street in 1976. The music was composed by Walt Kraemer with vocals by the Pointer Sisters. Animation was directed by Jeff Hale.

I did this in iMovie with clips found on youtube. The quality varied from clip to clip, with 5, 8 and 9 being especially dodgy. It would be nice if somebody did this for real someday with nice high quality versions.

  • Isn't it odd that music on a kids show was good enough to hold up 30 years later, but music on kid's shows today is something no one would get caught dead listening to on their car stereo?

  • My kid turns 3 tomorrow, and today we watched the Sesame Street Old School DVD and he asked me top repeat this for him 10 times while he danced.

I've never been so proud in my life.

  • @spankrod Hahahaha I feel you though!

  • I just thought of something awesome! This would be a great song for Glee. Seeing as they've already done Conjunction Junction. This would be a great way of introducing the jazz band.

  • I'm going to dance to this, at my funeral.

    Wait.

  • I credit old-school Sesame Street, for helping me to discover my inner-awesomeness.

    Also, dat funk.

  • 7:40 of gorgeously animated 70's funk bliss.

  • Press 5 on your keyboard while watching this and you get a SEEEEEVVEEEAAAAEEENN!!

  • Anyone else feel like 1 got shafted? Didn't get a spot at all. I guess 1 will always be alone.

  • Watching this, makes me realize what the point of being stoned is. The point of being stoned, is so you can feel as happy as you did when you were 3 years old, watching Sesame Street.

  • The only cooler music from my childhood was Schoolhouse Rock's VERB. I fucking sat through this whole video... twice.

  • Great job on transitioning the video! It's like it's all one long song!
