The Oversight Committee holds a hearing, "Executive Pay and Compensation Consultants," to examine the role played by compensation consultants in determining the pay packages of senior executives at the largest publicly traded corporations. Corporate governance experts, institutional investors, and compensation consulting firms testify regarding the role of consultants in setting executive pay, efforts to prevent and manage conflicts of interest, and the adequacy of the information available to shareholders and the public. Chairman Henry Waxman gives opening remarks.

  • These hearings are only to inform the public. Group (A) points out all the faults of group (B) in hopes of getting (A) to pay them more (hush) money. Nothing ever solves the problem, but sometimes "post dated" laws are passed which gives (A) many more years to operate their scam, and gives them time to prepare and develop new ways around the law. The problem is not what (A) is doing, its not ethical but its legal. Its our failed government, for allowing it to continue.

  • What a crock. This guy must see a conspiracy under every rock. The consultant merely show numbers and give guidance to the Board on aligning compensation with company performance. If an executive is paid in stock, Good! That is the best incentive to make sure the company performs. Consultants can't make the numbers say $400 million if they say $250,000. Don't forget its the CEOs who are subpeonaed and go to jail, not to mention having the lives of all of their employees in their hands.

  • One fact should be understood. No one; no human being is worth $400 million per year. These CEOs will not allow the shareholders to vote on their pay contracts. These are not executives they are highly skilled thieves and crooks.

  • The video is great. I lost my job in the (steal)steel mill the ceo walked away with millions. A judge in cleveland ohio let that happen so don't forget the the judges that ok for them to walk away with everything. The whole thing sucks.

  • what we need is impeachment consultants!

  • lies lies and more lies

  • free of corruption hahahah how are they going to retire at 55,even if we do that to them their kids take over their jobs and it never stops
