This is basically the way I do my Locoma ( http://www.drunkduck.com/Locoma ) pages (the ones in watercolor). First I draw the structures in Col-Erase pencil, then I pencil it, and lastly I paint it using watercolors. I usually use 2 pots of water: one with distilled water and the second one with regular tap water to clean the brushes, and I usually use more than 1 brush (3 or 4 of different sizes and shapes.
This is the final version of this: http://www.drunkduck.com/Locoma/index.php?p=325600

  • whenever i paint, no matter how thick the paper, it always gets wrinkled! T^T HELP

  • @bellezzacondolore uhm... are you using actual watercolor paper? They're specially thick, not like a regular thick paper. Maybe they wrinkle a little when you paint (just a bit) but they look perfect when they dry. Also, consider using less water in your strokes, and less layers on backgrounds. I think for layers you shouldn't go more than 3 (that's when you paint the whole surface with a really big wet brush, then wait till it dries for the next one).

  • What brand of watercolor are you using?

  • @kyuhyunnieSuJu "Cotman" from Winsor & Newton and another cheaper one called "Venezia" from Maimeri. I like the later one better, that's the one I use nowadays.

  • Hey you draw pretty good ..! i was about to ask you one question ... Is it ok to use watercolor paint on a wall ?

  • @slkmercedez I think that's called a fresco, which is watercolors and plaster, although my friends that do wall paintings always use plastic based materials for it.

  • you make it look so easy lol

  • @Nitrobezene I think it can be flat, I have tried water colors in my art class and was on a flat table. I think they had a table like that because to them it would be more comfortable to draw, paint, etc on. Though I'm just guessing.

  • Woah your well good! Subscribed:).

  • i can't see watercolor >_<
