Talking about composition and different elements and principles of design. Good information to know but use what you want and throw the rest in the bin!

  • Love your formula/style. I am in love with the last painting. Awesome. Thanks for the class. I will be putting some of these techniques to use next time I paint.

  • Well the formula pretty much works for me, i think the more you paint the more you get to know what 'WORKS' and then it is just a question of using that knowledge again and again. When i create a painting however i don't really think about this formula it comes naturally most of the time.

I mean there are so many rules and useful information about how different cultures read a painting...we read from left to right but in asian cultures they read from right to left top to bottom, this all matters

  • Interesting point of view...specially for beginners like me! Thanks a lot

  • Your Welcome :)

  • It may not be glamorous, but you would make an excellent art teacher. Thanks again for sharing your expertise with us laymen.

    Janet.

  • Janet that's nice of you to say! I started a teaching degree a few years ago in Art and Japanese language for high school students but as fate would have it i quit University to go live in norway LOL. That is why i want to start up a texture/layering/mixed media school because i do like to teach but i think i am more interested in teaching Adults now although kids are fun too. By the way i am a laymen also ..;)
