  • So the electric powered aircraft wasn't radio-controlled?

  • No, It didn't have any RC. There wasn't any suitable micro equipment available at the time it was built.

  • wow, that modified tim bird flies great! Can you give me plans or directions on how you made it?

  • That was done in 1993 and I don't have any plans for it. I made the wings out of balsa and tissue as well as the extended tail. You can probably make a similar version on your own by experimenting.

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • DANG! thats a shame, it's just so brilliant.

PS: you didnt use an airfoil on the wings did you?

  • The wings have a single surface cambered airfoil with balsa wing ribs. The is no covering on the bottom of the wing.

  • I hope you have insurance.

  • Genius and comedy in equal amounts! I especially like the first bird , great motions, it really looked for all the world as if you were grabbing an unfortunate pigeon out of the air ;)

  • Nice little birds, ur rubber powered one worked really well, and maybe it's a good thing the electric didn't soar into the sky (how would you have retrieved it had it taken off with the wind at 50 ft.) that would be funny though, and make a great vid.

  • Pretty neat aircraft! Nice flights, but it is also hilarious when they flail about after making a landing - don't know why.

  • Sweeeeet!

  • how it will change its directions when u r not having rc

  • looks like the Lippisch orni has a little out of phase flapping ; )

  • Very cool!!

  • ugly bet yet so cool.
