2010 Mazda3 GT Acceleration (20-80mph)

3 weeks old, 950 miles on it. Stock 2.5 mazda3 s gt 4 door with Bose package. Auto transmission, in regular not manual shift mode. Showing acceleration from 20-80mph.

The automatics must not have very good gears because i have a manual 2.5 and its faster than that

The ATX in this car is good and most of the people posting on here sound like morons. Congratulations morons, you can work work a clutch and shift. So can many people who decide to go with automatics because they are more sophisticated, usually faster than an MT (unless you want to brutalize your clutch/tranny), more linear and with the 3, get better gas mileage. Must be the Mazda demographic because BMW steptronic vids rarely have highschool age ricers saying "you should have gotten manual"

@MangoSmoothie16 the 458 technically is a manual, its just an automated one so the the ecu does all of the clutch work and shifting, but I agree with you that manual is the way to go if you can drive one well.

@jlolol Manual isnt always faster. Look at the Ferrari 458... But Manual is ALWAYS he way to go. Even if its slower.

@digink the autos are great especially for daily driving, the reason everyone is talking about the manuals is because the vid is about acceleration and the manuals are faster than the autos since the new manual 3's have much shorter gears (very similar to the mazdaspeed 3's) than the autos and less drivetrain loss

@rushcreek77 Couldn't agree with you more. I owned a manual Mazda Miata for years before I just recently purchased a 2011 Mazda 3 GT in Auto and I have to say, I am loving the auto in this car. Auto's have come a LONG way and to be 100% honest, I'd have to be trying EXTREMELY hard driving a manual to be as fast as auto's now days and that might be for only 1 shift out of 5/6... 90% of people who drive manuals are non consistently fast shifters yet they love to bash on autos which are consistent.

950 miles on it?? Let the engine break in first its still fresh. I got 8500 on mine now n it pics up better stock. Only mods r resinator delete n ignition timing advance

@Brims131 if u dont want to speed 3 cause its gas, get the 3 2.5 manual, i have it fully modded with everything possible except turbo or s/c which i mite get later, and its doing 15s 1/4 ez. but it really shines in the corners with strut and rear sway bars and sprngs.i have driven the manual and auto for this car, manual makes a big difference in fun driveability and everyone knows that manual is always faster than auto, its a fact that cant be disputed... not saying that auto shift is not fun!
