  • Thanks for the nice comments! slimhalu, the LQ1/5-speed transaxles were Getrag 284s. They were specific for this application. The ratios are better suited for high RPMs. I don't have them on hand, but if you check 60degreev6, i'm sure you'll find plenty of information there. If you're looking for strength, there's really no shortage of good hardened parts for your 282. Don't bother with the 284. It can't be rebuilt.

  • beautiful engine sound up there. my mom had one (not a z34 or anything) from this year and i miss it so much.

  • i just ran across one of these at the junk yard today, 3.4 5 speed. im wondering if the 5 speed is any stronger then my beretta 5 speed and what gear ratio it would be

  • got a 5 speed with a hypertech chip and cold air intake, god i miss her. too many electrical problems
