A lot of love for Salif from Kenya. Ure beyond amazing.

what a wonderful song. I listened this song while I was studying my lessons every single night back home.

I don't understand anything from this music but somehow it's okay because I can feel it. In a few of his songs I can pick up some of the French there's a song called Africa where I could hear him say things like mange beaucoup and danse beacoup but thats all lol.

Hey! Thanks for the translation. It's nice to know what the meaning and context of the song are in my personal opinion. :D Perhaos I'll seek you out when I'm curious about the meaning of Keita's other songs. ;)

He is praising a long time friend and benefactor of his, Babani Sissoko ou Sora as Malians praisesingers like to call him, a guy who was known for his wealth and generosity, personally I think he was being kingly with other people 's money but I don't want to spoil the song. It is a pretty song and I like the video. There u have it and for full disclosure, I did hesitate a sec before unveiling it as some things are better left to the imagination, sorry for the spoiler :).

Then wat is it??

@m6m17 he actually had 2 songs called baba. 1 dedicated to his father and this one

THIS IS NOT THE NAME OF THE SONG.

What an amazingly beautiful production!
I think that featuring the sound of the kora, with these vocals, was a very wise choice. I think that modern western instruments would have been too over-powering, especially with those delicate female voices.
