A brief demo of the 1997 Gibson BFG with a Creation Audio Labs "Holy Fire" overdrive / distortion pedal set as a clean boost and then with a little bit of distortion.
Notice how the BFG is nice and quiet, even with the Burstbucker 3 / P90 combo and the P90 by itself. This is not a noisy guitar. I was playing in a room with flourescent lighting and a large computer monitor a foot away and it's still quiet. I demo the "kill switch", and when it's engaged, the guitar is still quiet. There was absolutely zero post-production on the audio - what you hear is exactly what was recorded with no processing.
The body-mounted pickups give a very open "woody" sound that is enhanced by the extremely light finish on the entire guitar's body. The resulting tone works very well clean and with dirt. The BFG is chambered so it's very comfortable, I am loving my BFG. It's a unique Gibson guitar with high-end features that's available for a very affordable price both new (as of 12/2011 the "Gator" and the "Gary Moore Signature Model BFG" were still available new) and used.
Recorded with a Marshall 4x12 / Shure SM-57 into my computer's soundcard.
