Turns out that replacing the memory module wasn't all that was needed. It WAS a bad memory module and it was because the last image backup had been made with that bad memory module that the image recovery didn't produce a working system. I had another image and when I did a recovery with that image, all was fine. Sorry I took a year to reply!
Sorry for not getting back to you in a timely fashion. Yes, it was a RAM memory module problem and I did get the computer to work after replacing the bad RAM. Luckily, I had a system image and was able to restore the image and all was well.

Riveting... come on Bill... its been 4 days... did the 1GB memory module work - or should I tune in tomorrow to find out what happened to our hero?
