  • Talat Mehmood was among the greatest singers india saw.

what a pity that younger generation are unaware of his class, wish the tv and radio put more songs of talat and saigal so that younger generation know bout them too.

  • talat had a voice that vibrated much but still amazingly stayed with the note. anil biswas said that everyone could be amitated but talat had a voice thad would be impossible because it was a strange and sweetly balanced mix of silky softness with other qualities

  • i should be young at 28 and for 10 years now, i know and recite more than 100 talat songs by talat.but sir,you are right as most persons ask who is this talat and then deride him and me too,but he remains a legeng of our time,of any time indeed.

  • Great song! Talat rules!

  • I agree with you fully. Talal Mehmood, K.L. Saigal and Mukesh used sing from their hearts. They were all modest , Shy and against publicity.

  • Sachinda had Talat to sing for Dev Anand probably only for the second time in this movie, after two songs from 'Armaan' - 'Bharam teri wafaon ka' and 'Bol na bol ai jaane wale', and what a composition has he come out with. An exception even among classics. Talat's other exceptional numbers under S. D. Burman are Sujata's 'Jalte hain jiske liye' and two numbers from 'Devdas', 'Mitwa' and 'Kisko khabar thi', though he sang for him in 'Do Bhai', 'Angarey' and 'Shahenshah' as well.

  • Time heals up the wounds no matter how deep they might ever have been.

  • I agree with you. I used to prefer Mukesh & Rafi. One of my freind was Vicky Shrivastava. His brother (Rajeev) used to listen Talat. He insisted Talat is better than both Rafi & Mukesh. So I statrted listening Talat (in 1980s)..and realised Talat was amazing. I remeber once Rafi (just before his death) said that we all (i.e him, mukesh etc) copied and envied two singers..one was KL Sigal and other was Talat..

  • Simply great...words aren't enough.
