The video above coversPM's questions until the end of the Cameron/Miliband exchanges.

Prime Minister David Cameron clashed with Labour leader Ed Miliband on the ongoing phone-hacking scandal at Prime Minister's Questions on 13 July 2011.

Mr Miliband called on the PM to take action against his chief of staff, Ed Llewellyn, after Mr Cameron said that allegations connecting former No 10 communications chief Andy Coulson with illegal activity during his tenure as News of the World editor were handed to Mr Llewellyn but not passed on to him.

The prime minister told MPs that Mr Coulson had assured him that the allegations were false, adding that Mr Coulson had provided similar assurances to the police.

If this proved to be inaccurate then he "should be prosecuted", the PM declared.

The opposition leader described it as an "insult" to murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler's family that Rebekah Brooks was still in her job, and said it would be "quite wrong" for News Corporation's proposed takeover of BSkyB to go ahead.

Mr Cameron agreed that Mrs Brooks' resignation offer should have been accepted, and urged News Corp executives to "stop worrying about mergers and sort out the mess they have created".

Thanks to the BBC.

  • @AnnikaTory That was probabl;y the worst PMQ's Cameron has ever faced. He was shaking, he was nervous, he looked looked forlorn & beaten. His own side are not happy with him at all right now. Peter Oborne who is very close to senior right wing Ministers are saying as much. The knives are sharpening right now & I foresee major problems ahead for Dave. Especially if this hacking scandal deepens.

  • @AnnikaTory What are you actually watching. David Cameron has looked a complete muppet throughout this seedy saga. Always on the back foot. Missing from the debate. Did he have a nice afternoon nap? I think he looks 'tired'.

  • Cameron's breaking a sweat, there!

  • @NOTWPhoneHacking. Cameron does look awful. Miliband looks like a wimp. Just like in the USA, it appears the UK has no leadership. Although Farage and Godfrey Bloom show promise. Maybe Daniel Hannen too.

  • @Tokopol If you don't understand what I meant by that, you're really not very clever. Certainly not intelligent enough for me to enter into a serious discussion with you.

  • @callum1131 Victorian focus on class division? What is that shit supposed to mean? Do you think classes were just some temporary phenomenon?

  • Ed Miliband talx with a lithp

  • "Ed Milliband!" "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

  • Ed Milliband is not a leader. People need to get over this victorian focus on class division. Grow up people.

  • @gtgale1 that's a terrible thing to say. giving to a country is metaphorical, subject to conflicting interpretations, be specific or don't make such a sweeping statement. i think of it as more of a mentality rather than an actual function

and the prime minister will not be reading youtube comments

    etc.

  • David we know you are doing the best you can for England. Sad to see so

many ungrateful jerks that don't understand the meaning of Patriotism. All they can do is take not give back to their country in time of need. We wish you the very best for all your efforts to turn England around. You have your hands full. Good luck and thanks for taking this job on for the good of England.

  • @NOTWPhoneHacking I hope you're right.
