In 2006 the Hawaiian legislature launched a community discussion around its futures for the year 2050. At the kickoff event over 500 delegates were immersed in four alternative futures, through experiential scenarios designed by Stuart Candy and Jake Dunagan at the Hawaii Research Center for Futures Studies (HRCFS). Each experience lasted about 20 minutes. The "Silver" alternative suggests possible conditions in 2050 some years after a socio-economic collapse.
