He never used a sword before this film...the duel is a montage

Skinny samurai depicted in first duel and last scene was Kendo champion of Japan at the time. Basically he didn't have to act. In the movie the duel where he is introduced is amazing. Only way you can tell what he did is to pause the dvd and advance it frame by frame.

Seeing the clips again, I never realized how virtually realistic the swordfights are. It almost gives you a taste of what it's like when you're in an actual battle with swords ready and no fancy flashy swordplay like in other movies.

at the risk of prolonging a dialogue i have no desire to carry on, i'll simply mention that i had no idea who this band even was.
i was drawn in by the combination of sun tzu and akira kurasawa.
