Leonard passed away Christmas day December 25, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Leonard was born in Dayton, WA to Fred and Eliza Patton on April 6, 1917. He married Leora Fletcher, also of Dayton, on May 12, 1940. Leonard graduated from Dayton High School and served three years in the Air Force during WWII as a flight instructor. Leonard and Leora moved to the Fairwood Retirement Village in Spokane, WA in 2003 after 45 years in Pendleton Oregon. He retired in 1979 after 18 years with the Forest Service. His great passion was cooking for friends, family and special events. He is survived by his wife Leora of 68 years, one daughter, Linda (Dudley) Bain of Spokane, and three sons, Michael (Sally) Patton of Keizer, OR, Terry (Betty) Patton of Spokane,WA and Fred (Barbara) Patton of Aurora, CO. Leonard has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Malvern Patton. A memorial in celebration of Leonard's life was February 7th at 1:00PM at the Fairwood Retirement Village (Garden Mall) in Spokane, WA.
