Religion means nothing to me. Quite frankly, I don't trust ANYTHING that has started wars.

@popper4304 and remember that the original pledge DID NOT hate that line in it :)

Which was added at the height of the Red Scare back in 1954. If you weren't a God-fearing American, then you were here to spy for Mother Russia. Don't get it twisted; the original as penned by Francis Bellamy specifically made no mention of religion.

@7jshelto - Its apparent that if they are living with anyone its showing their not alone. You don't have to be religious or non-religious to make someone feel they are not alone. Its called being a good person... I find your story a bit far fetched but ill give it to you.

@griffynelvyncraft Religion is a disease, and it's evil. In my life, the
worst people that I've ever met were all avid church-goers ("people
of God"). I am an athiest, and proud of it. I love my fellow man, and
I am tolerant of others. And, for the record, some guy named Jesus
did NOT die for "my sins". Assuming that this guy ever even existed
(a HUGE assumption, by the way!), he lived thousands of years be-
fore I was born. Yet he died for "my sins", eh? Baloney!
