Improvising over the chords to "Stolen Moments" (Cm blues changes). Eastman T146SMD into a Acoustic Image Clarus 1.
Managed to get more augmented ideas into my improvising as well as sneaking in some Coltrane changes at one point.

  • Do you think of scales modes when improvising?

  • @closetome I usually think about what notes work over the harmony at that time, but it not really a modal/scale approach I take. There are passages in the playing which have parts of scales in them; but it's just me getting from one chord to another using the easiest route!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for linking with one of my vids!

  • @geoffstockton Thanks Geoff, your videos are excellent!

  • cool : )

  • @leoosiku Thank you chief!

  • @DanJohnson You sir, are a gentleman as well as a good player.

  • @Rexicano This sounds great REX. You just don't get it. Probably never will. Stick to basic melodic fingerstyle tunes and you will be ok.

  • @closetome Seems like such a tall order!!

    this guy could give you some ideas;

    Stolen Moments - Pablo Zumarán

    a good balance of Blues feel and intellect.

    I'm not into recreating the same Jazz feel from decades ago...I need something of my own time and also want ALL the influences I grew up with like Hendrix; he's not Jazz but was probably heading that way.

    You do play well, but Less is More. There's a reason why Santana is so popular; he gets more out of sustained notes....but probably could not hang with a Jazz Trio.
