Toffs getting on at Clapham and riding coach class...NOT! But a cute spoof on a serious problem. Amtrak fares are also getting out of hand here in the USA as well. And let's not even discuss what happened after we de-regulated the airlines in the USA...

Nice one. As soon as I get my annual pay rise the train companies take pretty much all of it off me with their above-inflation increases, year after year. That's not really fair now, is it.

I bought a bike. Solves all these problems. Plus i'll probably end up moving to scandinavia or holland, they at least have a long term view on sustainability when it comes to transport and carbon reduction.

They claim the rises are needed to fund improvements to the rail network - yet don't expect drivers to pay for road building schemes. Here in Lincoln we're about to get a £100m bypass -that's £1,000 for every man, woman and child in the city. This road is of no use whatsoever to me, or the other 1/3 of households in Lincoln without a car, yet we all still have to pay for it.

The government delayed the fuel duty rise because it would "hit hard working families" - so what about the hard working families who travel by train? Do we not count?

I travel to work via the train and I struggle to afford food because over 1/3 of my wage goes on train fares. This needs sorting out!
