  • the record is shellac not vinyl.

  • @KhaosSoulFury that's right but handy didn't think much of it saying it was primitive yet proclaimed himself the father of the blues

  • @donttellscotty05 My 8 and 9 year olds (son and daughter) play hockey. we read about W.C. Handy today, so I played this sing for them today. When I told them about it, my 8 year old said, "Oh, like the hockey team!"

  • @KhaosSoulFury add* lol

  • lol WC handy supposedly learned the blues from a man on a train who was playing it at the time, it was a completely new thing at the time, ass the blues to brass instruments and you get yourself some jazz.

  • who disliked...

  • Hockey teams named after this? Why?

  • 1 person don't have ear, and had oral sex with lady gaga.

  • W.C. Handy was a cornetist...

but yes, I believe that is him; he did make some recordings later in his life before he died, although apparently his cornet tone was very much weakened by age.

  • Sounds like J.C. Higginbotham is on trombone.
