the record is shellac not vinyl.

@KhaosSoulFury that's right but handy didn't think much of it saying it was primitive yet proclaimed himself the father of the blues

@donttellscotty05 My 8 and 9 year olds (son and daughter) play hockey. we read about W.C. Handy today, so I played this sing for them today. When I told them about it, my 8 year old said, "Oh, like the hockey team!"

@KhaosSoulFury add* lol

lol WC handy supposedly learned the blues from a man on a train who was playing it at the time, it was a completely new thing at the time, ass the blues to brass instruments and you get yourself some jazz.

Hockey teams named after this? Why?

1 person don't have ear, and had oral sex with lady gaga.

W.C. Handy was a cornetist...
but yes, I believe that is him; he did make some recordings later in his life before he died, although apparently his cornet tone was very much weakened by age.

Sounds like J.C. Higginbotham is on trombone.
So good, they named a hockey team after it! =]
