V-Land Proof This Guy Dropped In On Me

I caught this left and near the end of the ride I looked back and saw a guy behind me on the wave. I thought, "where did he come from?" and thought maybe I dropped in on him. As I pulled off the wave I told the guy, "sorry, I didn't see you back there". He got all hot headed and wanted to fight saying I dropped in on him. He was ruining the vibe for a lot of people in the water. Even though I took off pretty deep on the wave, I thought maybe I had dropped in on him. I talked to a friend who said he thought he saw me in the wave first. Well, just happened my cousin was shooting video from the beach and got the guy dropping in on me. All I can say is, what a jerk! I hope I see the guy out in the line up again soon. He represents the worst of surf etiquette.

@petergnyc The lease just expired last week...oh well. I posted this a long time ago for one reason and one reason only: There were a lot of us regulars that surfed V-land every morning in 2006. I happened to be one that year. This guy was always a jerk in the water. He had the ability to paddle out and change the vibe from everyone having a great time to a vibe of heavy negativity. I hope he saw this video and I hope he has lightened up and has more fun in the water than he did back then.

@bscottmarine10 Amen to lack of civility on youtube. As to Marines, few people get more of my respect than you guys. If I could go back in time one thing I would change is I would have seriously looked into the Marine Corp. As to surfing, I recommend you try it (though I shouldn't because the crowds are already too big). You wouldn't have to be a "surfer" just a Marine who knows how to surf. As to the guy who dropped in, he is the type that ruins the sport.

You can tell that all the idiots posting, telling you to 'get over it' are total punks. These punks probably drop in all the time and when they get called on it on the water, they shrug and say the same thing, 'get over it'. My suggestion, read Geoff Thompson's Watch My Back, take a few jujitsu classes to get comfortable on the ground, buy a heavy bag and hit it as hard as you can, 20k times. The next time that 'brudda' threatens you, go off like an atomic bomb
