@lillskiten1337 If the oil filter is made from metal it will stick to it. If it is made from plasic or aluminum you need to attach the magnet with a large hose type clamp. A 3 or 4 inch water hose clamp will work, or you can get one from a hardware store or plumbing supply. Just take the filter and magnet with you for a trial fit before purchasing or you can just use a large "pull tie"..
@lillskiten1337 are you saying they are "electro-magnetic"? Where is the electrical hook up? I personally use magnets from bad hard drives. They are very powerful and they do work in these applications. I have opened several oil filters after using hard drive magnets and you can see the iron and steel particles attached to them on the inside of the filter. Hard drive magnets work and they are usually free from any computer repair place. Stick one on each side of filter and see for yourself.
Great invention but I really believe the paper/fabric filter inside the unit would have caught most of that shavings anyways (99%)... some of the shaving that are too small and does make their way through the filter wouldn't hardly do any damage to the engine worth any concern.
what is you have a cartilage filter?

@kenzo5716 Yep except if they are conducted with electricity and well how the hell does electricity get into the oil filter XD

will not trap aluminum, copper and cadmium. These are not magnetic.
