I wish these guys would tour again. My buddy used to drive to their shows in a black van with Bourbon Tabernacle Choir spray painted on the side. I miss those days!

Specialized in the Stax Records story, his liner notes on the different boxed sets of The Complete Stax/Volt Soul Singles has been celebrated. His book, Soulsville, U.S.A. - The Story of Stax Records, is considered to be the definitive history of the legendary Memphis-based record label.
Bowman won the 1996 Best Album Notes Grammy for his 47,000-word monograph accompanying the 10-CD boxed set of The Complete Stax/Volt Soul Singles, Vol. 3: 1972-1975.

Still the most pretentious liner notes ever.
This was a great band, they didn't need their English professor to write a gushing, impartial review to confirm that fact.

Great song, great band. Very under appreciated while they were around IMO.
Also cool to see some early pre-Broken Social Scene footage of guitarist Andrew Whiteman!
