Very early on a Saturday morning, about 400 of us went to the fabulous Union Chapel to witness the lush Birdie play their first gig in about 10 years (other than a one-off other Hangover Lounge appearance a few years ago). They sounded beautiful despite Debsey's very British self-deprecation! Debsey and Paul also *looked* beautiful - the most stylish and talented creative couple.

Well it was supposed to be a very casual thing. They were playing really because their friends at the Hangover Lounge asked them to. It was a free daytime gig in a church. It wasn't supposed to be a big to-do. They only practiced once with their drummer who I think lives in Cambridge!
