JLH had "heritage" flowing through him - his songs are derived from stuff he heard in his youth and what come from within him, what he's playing is what he's feeling deep down
...that's what makes great music

I just got my heart broken a second time by the same girl...
Nothing like a little blues to help you feel just a little better now...

real blues right here. John Lee seemed to be one of those bluesmen who didn't get happier when they got older, like BB King or Buddy Guy. I love BB and Buddy, but John Lee Hooker just seemed so much more badass than either of them, although Buddy can get a pretty good John Lee Hooker impression when he sings his songs :)

Well you dont know blues my mann or good music so stop haten bitch
How did we ever stray so far from the sheer simplicity and beauty of the roots of rock and roll? To look at it now, it's hardly recognizable.
