The Trevor Project is a non-profit organization that offers the only toll-free hotline devoted to teens who are coming out or coming to terms with their sexuality. Established in 1998, the Trevor Project was created to coincide with the HBO airing of the Academy Award winning short film, "Trevor." This 18-minute piece, hosted by Ellen Degeneres, is about a young man's struggles with coming out and his unsuccessful attempt at suicide. More than a hotline for suicidal teens, the Trevor Project is also a place where one can find information on helping a friend or family member in crisis. Each year the Trevor Project hosts a number of benefits, the biggest being the star-studded 'Cracked X-Mas.' For more information on the Trevor project, please visit www.thetrevorproject.org. The 24/7 hotline is available toll-free at: 888-4UTREVOR.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the people involved in this organization. There is no doubt in my mind that you have saved lives.

  • I'm so glad this project exists, not only for what it does but it is some marvelous material for the GSA that i run.

  • I'd love to see more done for Bisexuals and BiPhobia from these guys. Bisexuals at the same age have a 6 time greater chance to commit suicide than straights.

  • What an excelent charity!

  • The film came out in 1994 - Ellen did host it later in 1998, as DiabloGuapo mentioned.

  • iv called them, there very nice and helpfull, i was very embarised at first when i first called but soon i was calmed doun and felt much better knowing that soem one was there to talk to any time i need to!
