Did you know that famous Letterman regular CALVERT DeFOREST (Larry "Bud" Melman) actually got his start in Troma Entertainment's 1980 screwball comedy, "WAITRESS!"?? It's true! Check out this clip of the late, great Calvert in "Waitress!" with a brief intro by Troma prez Lloyd Kaufman! We will miss you, Calvert!

  • Letterman said he remembered Calvert from a series of 3 stooge - type shorts. And they showed a few seconds. He was acting like curly. Is there no record of this footage?

  • Please tell me Tyree's not dead yet

  • Actually, his first film appearance was in Chuck Vincent's "While the Cat's Away" (1972), and three other features before "Waitress!" (1982, not 1980)

  • Great talent. One of the few who could steal a scene from Letterman. Miss you Calvert.
