while i don't remember the chat before (part 2 seems like David Steinberg is the interviewer), i remember seein' him perform on this show in tha day
as for Cavett vs. Douglas, Mike wasn't tryin' to be cerebral (he was outa Philly, right?) "you takin' care of your bread?"

Big Daddy got it right..this guy was the real deal. Only others that stack with Sly...Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley (although not funk-oriented, Bob had soul!).

And you can thank the grand daddy of them all, most great funk vocalist numero uno influence...Mr. Ray Charles!!! Soul.
