Spotting at NAS/JRB Willow Grove
NAS/JRB Willow Grove, Pennsylvania
December 2004

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as a multitude of aircraft make their way into NAS/JRB Willow Grove on the Friday before the big Army/Navy game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. You'll see KC-135R Stratotankers, C-130 Hercules, an F/A-18 Hornet, F-14 Tomcats, and AH-64 Apaches in this video, along with some other aircraft.

Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

  • ok thanks for the info :)

  • by 2011 there will be final closure for the NAVY and all planes and squadron will be gone except the 111th FW, the 111th will continue to Work here after 2011 but they are still going to lose all there A-10s, we dont know if they will get new aircraft. after closure in 2011 it Will be turned into a JII base the runway should continue to be open but to who knows what, so as far as we know now an ARMY striker brigade will be based here and the 111th FW...the future for Willow Grove is very unclear

  • as of right now the base is fully operational, it has lost a lot of planes, but right now the Ch53s from HMH-772 are on deployment they will be back soon, there are still 4 C-9s that are out nearly every day, going out somewhere, we have 4 NAVY C-130s from VR-64 which don't fly too often a couple C-12s and 4 A-10s, which there used to be about 17 A-10s a year ago, but there getting distributed to othere sqaudrons due to BRAC,

  • i did figure that out, isnt it just being used for VIP flights w/ the C-9 Nightingales, and for basic training?

  • the base is not closed

  • yeah i live about 5 minutes from here, im gonna miss the airshows

  • I lived about 35 min from here, im upset they closed it.
