The College of Staten Island was awarded $410,000 in a Job Access and Reverse Commute Grant from the New York State Department of Transportation for the operation of the New CSI - Staten Island Ferry Shuttle. The ferry shuttle operates direct service from the Colleges Willowbrook campus to the St. George ferry terminal.

I am so pleased that President Morales initiated this program, says Jonathan Peters, Associate Professor of Finance at the College of Staten Island and a Research Fellow at the University Transportation Research Center. Every day that classes are in session, over 1,430 students and staff will arrive on campus, each having saved over 15 minutes each way in their daily commute. I have ridden the bus numerous times and it is a true joy to reach the terminal without extensive delay and to have a shuttle with a high frequency of service it really reduces the stress of the commute. Peters adds that he expects the shuttle to move approximately 217,000 riders this year.

  • Take the R to 86th Street and once your out take either the S93 that takes you directly to the campus with stops (1 bus) or take the S53 to Victory Blvd and take the S62 to the campus. This last one runs all day while the S93 runs from 7am till 940am and it starts again @ 3pm till like 9pm or so.

  • I've been trying to find out how to get here (from where I live in downtown Brooklyn). I still have no idea, which sucks because I really want to go here. The directions are confusing. Ughh...

  • If i was being interviewed , this is what i would say.

"It comes late most of the time, it comes every 35 minutes so i miss the ferry all the time, the bus is too small so 16 students are standing, plus the drivers are so old they take so long, they probably use life alert, wack ass shuttle bus. the city bus is much faster, in fact if i walked to the ferry it would be faster, they have wack service, CSI better step their transportation game up!"

  • I know what they did, they edited out all the students who tell the truth how this service really sux

  • i go to this college ))
