@RoninNZL put some bait on the trigger stick like peanut butter just smear it on the middle and when the lean on it or put there front legs on it to chew they get got

You can also daub mud or trampled/kneaded grass onto the edges of your trap's cuts. Used along a rabbit path or near a hide works well enough, there's also nothing stopping you from making more then one trap. Where I grew up bramble/berry patches are pretty common. And rabbit's only have one or two entrances/exits in briar patches so it's a great way to catch a free stew.

I catch roedeers in snares made of fresh wood.
cool trap. would that work for rabbits? personally I can see them just going around it. I mean why climb over an obstacle when you can go around.

this is illegal in Britian and in my experience no animal would go near it because the scent of fresh cut wood
