National Geographic Traveler contributing editor Andrew Evans recently spotted and filmed an all-black king penguin—a very rare mutant—on the sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia.

Thus it was appearent the all black penguin began mating with all the females creating a sub species that would eventually branch off into a new species on its own.
