Integral Psychedelics: Icaros of Love and Hope by http://www.neurosoup.com

During many of my trips, I experienced a language that came to me in the form of chants and songs. It wasn't a language I'd spoken before yet it seemed as though it was the language that formed reality. Likewise, it felt familiar. Oh so familiar. It was precious and full of love. It was like the one mind had enveloped me and was flowing through me, as it always is. The eternal now given voice. It helps me navigate altered states, fills me with light, and gives me strength.

And ever since those initial trips, I've sought out people who have shared similar experiences as mine. The shaman in the amazon also experienced the same thing on ayahuasca in the form of what they call Icaros.

  • @NeuroSoup For those wishing to learn more about icaros (pronounced "ee-CAR-oh") they are discussed about 1 hour into the film "Metamorphosis", an ayahuasca documentary by Keith Aronowitz. It can be downloaded at btjunkie(dot)org.

My assessment of icaros is a cautionary judgment. They are described as spirit entities which enter the body. I consider this a dangerous proposition in which the foreign source of consciousness could control your own. Please take care of your precious soul.

  • @theslothmonkey Thanks for the documentry info :-)

I think is interesting to note that the shaman believe that the "spirit" fills them and teaches them. Personally, I believe that we all interpret the entheogenic experience through a cultural lens. This "spirit" merely exemplifies this cultural lens.

  • @NeuroSoup On the other hand, look at Terence McKenna. He experienced languages, but in his alien dreamtime talk he describes them as being taught to him by self transforming machine elves (or something to that effect). And then you look at my interpretation, God/Cosmic Consciousness flowing through me. Further proof that these states are interpreted by the individual's mental set and cultural lens.

  • @NeuroSoup Ken Wilber's theories might lead one to postulate that these states are also interpreted by an individual's stage...

  • There's a passage from the Koran that speaks from the perspective of God as a collective. Roughly translated: "We, God created you in pares and we have made you into peoples and tribes, that you may know one another". It reminds me of something my friend Orian and I talked about. He said, "I don't think the the universal consciousness or god or whatever,

is anymore aware of me than I am of one of my brain cells." what if us trying to know each other is really "God" trying to know "himself"...

  • You are beautiful, by the way. I love your videos. Thanks for the work!

  • Thanks for all your videos I think its awesome how many people you reach and that more and more people are becoming interested in psychedelics. Thank you for playing a role in opening people minds to more possibilities than what the status quo tells us. Peace and Love in Harmony.

  • My psylocibin trip. It came to me in less than a second, it did not speak but rather transmitted something almost uncomprehensible for my mind to then translate into my language. it said something like "This is only the beginning, u cannot fathom what is after this life" It was also filled with unconditional love and said something like "I love you so much there is nothing to fear" The rest of the trip I went between excitement for whats next, and pessism since I'm still stuck on prison planet.

  • ....Write a bible..<3

  • i want to bury my face in your crotch

  • you radiate beauty and love and an incredible soothing gaze that floors me.

  • @NeuroSoup Culture is very vital in this economy!

  • @Tengent

That could be the case. Both he and his daughter could have been actors, and his name might not even be Dan.

And I agree that it's just horrible that our government considers the fact that some people eat 'shrooms for fun (or enlightenment) to be more important than relieving this man's pain. The result has been that those who do it for fun or enlightenment still do (the law is unenforceable), but doctors can't use it to help their patients.

    Way to go, G-men!

  • "Divine oneness through words" turned out to be mathematics in my case.
