S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Bloodsucker - First Encounter

Just got the game and decided to make a quick vid. Was checking out some wierd electrical anomoly whilst looking for a stash. Went deeper into the basement and got a nasty surprise! (Gets slightly sluggish at the end - running at 1920x1200 all max settings AND Fraps took it's toll! O.o :D

Nope, just standard sound. Remember, I posted this vid only a few days after the game was released - in March 2007. No mods. And that was my very first encounter with a Bloodsucker. Hence the shit aiming and general running about like a tit! :-P

How did you zoom in and out with the binoculars?

I believe it was using the scroll-wheel on my mouse. Can't remember if that was a default setting or if I'd configured it that way. Check the Control Options in-game m8.

I think I was on Stalker difficulty - I had shortcuts set up for bandages and heath packs. No need to go to the menu to heal - was just clicking buttons on my mouse. ;-)

i remember my first bloodsucker... it scared the shit out of me, so i stabbed it in the face

I was sprinting through, flashlight on, checking everything with a glance. I could hear the soldiers moving in, and thought I had little time.

Then I heard it. I heard its breathing. Like something out of a horror movie. But by the time I heard it, it was too late. He was in my face by the time I tried retreating. I panicked. I ended up unloading my whole AK-74 ammo supply on it. And then I had to keep moving, of course. With soldiers coming at me. And I only had my MP5 to use.

first time i played this level - scared the hell out of me

second time - there was a mercenary in there (or bandit) and i thought he killed the sucker and i walked without a care, i went for the thorny artefact..... and i almost shitted (idk if that's a word) myself

On my first try I went into the room crouched and without lights. He was standing still with his stealth camo on in the far corner of the room...with his back towards me.

I took out my shotgun and fired.

What followed was a long ineligant dance around the room, full of reloading and medkit uses.

After all, I found out that they're quite weak, for looking that dangerous.
