Today is the first time that I saw your video. These homopolar motors do some strange things. Look at my video response. I didnot pursue the thing but rather moved onto to the Newman and Bedini motors. They do even stranger things
I like the way you suspend the homopolar magnetic rotor perpendicular to gravitational field. DePalma's N-Machine is one proposed method for overunity from this design; however, I am hoping to tap the Earth's constantly regenerating electromagnetic field. So far no one has a convincing explanation for the reversal, essentially a "kick" from the Earth's magnetic field?
All of this is made much more complex by the fact that the reversal does not always occur. Sometimes I have to wait for hours to see the effect, then it will work many times in a row. Could this have to do with the rate and direction of change of the earth's magnetic field?
There are several possible mechanisms for the reversal of direction:
(1) eddy currents in steel items such as the ball bearing, the battery housing and the clamp rod (2)hysteresis effect in the permanent magnet itself, caused by torque;
(3)a harmonic response from the energy in the local earth's magnetic field. This is an area of active research for me. I am working on a theory related to the transfer of angular momentum and energy via a coupling mechanism in the earth's magnetic field.

This is absolutely amazing!
What is making it reverse direction?
