Basic 1 step knife defense. This was taught at the 3rd level of instruction and preceeds more realistic long and progressional series of knife vs empty hand training at higher levels.

  • i wonder how those techniques would work if the attacker didn't extend their arm all the way in all the attacks

  • These are from the longfist system. They use distance control to frustrate their attackers and make them lunge or reach. Notice how in every technique the defender steps back away from the initial strike and makes the attacker reach with a second strike. Obviously it's not as easy as in the video but it's just a demonstration of the techniques. You need to learn the techniques before you can use them in a live training drill. It's also only one small part of our knife defense system.

  • yeah but in the video both the guys practically hyper extend their arms

  • of course there is a way for every diferrent attack.but generally it's quite hard to reach if you don't extend your arm.
