New photos from the Michigan set of A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas surfaced this week, showing a shopping mall decked out in holiday décor.

The film just went in production, as confirmed by a Twitter message from the film's director. Jon Hurwitz tweeted, "Harold and Kumar 3 has officially started shooting. That is all."

The film stars John Cho and Kal Penn, with Patton Oswalt recently joining the cast as a villain. The movie has been on hold for a while due to Kal Penn's obligations as associate director of The White House Office of Public Engagement.

A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas will hit theaters at the earliest, this December. But it may not make its debut until the holiday season of 2011.
