schacher's bass never stops blowing me away. and the harmonies of don and mark are simply the best live. and the faux ending on this tune, it's like one of the best ballads ever written.

True musicians and musical geniuses. Very few of the bands that get all of the press and marketing and hype from that era stand up to these guys...
-
As far as who brought the power trio to the masses, I think Experience and Cream would have per-empted GFR.
-
Mark could write a great song and had a hell of a voice.

FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

@PackedFunk WHY? What was wrong with his HAIR of all things? I'm wondering when people can get past things like that. HE IS THE ONE WEARING THE HAIR- if they don't like it- DON"T WEAR IT.
I used to go round and round with this argument......from eyeliner to hair to boots!

This band Frikn oozed with hard rock. Aces!!
WITH CHANGE COMES CONTROVERSY!
Grand Funk Railroad ushered in the 1970's with change & until this day are misunderstood for it.
GFRxR brought the 3 man power band to the masses & have been condemned for it ever since.
The critics panned this band from the start for everything from their look (Farner's hair) to calling their instruments junk (Farner's $200 Messenger Guitar.)
Many said they never paid their dues.
HOWEVER NUMBERS DON'T LIE, EVER. 10 CONSECUTIVE PLATINUM ALBUMS!!!!
