Perhaps it was more about something was untouchable. Pay more attention to video and you will notice that is shows everyone doing stuff with their hands. When his attention is turned to the girl, he is unable to touch her. Don't be so simple minded.

@2B2as1 More like these guys influenced Death Cab/Shins seeing as how they've been making music since the early 90's via their original band, Versus, which holds much indie-cred, despite the mediocrity of this particular song and video....
