September 29th, 2010, a giant windmill was raised on Highway 275 near Pilger, Nebraska. The wooden tower stands about 60 feet tall and is crowned with a large, shining Aermotor fan spanning 16 feet in diameter. The windmill was constructed by a crew of men from Sand Creek Post & Beam, Wayne, NE. The property and windmill are currently owned by Elkhorn Valley Horizons, Inc. The site is the venue for local County Market Days.
