Tibet used to be under a Slave syatem before the PLA stepped in after the political riot, now it has become a free province with free social and working system, anyone is not a slave of anyone like those days under the Dalai lamma rule. now tibet is free to go , and free to work. Dalai lamma was a slave master of all tibetan.dont nexpect him to free anyone unless you pay to him for freedom like the old days when he was in tibet!!!

deliousluna: of course it's right for Tibetans to preserve their heritage. But it's not right to preserve theocracy. In fact, Tibetans are more free to preserve their culture than natives in Canada. Do you see Natives wearing their traditional clothes on the street? practice their religions in their temples like Tibetans? They are intending to snatch the torch at the next winter Olympics for"no olympics on stolen land", is Amnesty gonna support them? Human right at home first maybe?

I still find it hard to believe that simple Autonomy is so much to ask for... and I am in fact incredulous that you and others of the same opinion seem to think it's wrong for a people to want to keep their own heritage & traditions, religion and language!!!!!! Tibet is now said to hold as much as 40 million tons of copper - one third of China's total - 40 million tons of lead and zinc, and more than a billion tons of high-grade iron.

China is the world's largest importer of iron ore - 326 million tons last year - much of which feeds its insatiable steel mills and in turn its ballooning construction and auto industries.High-grade iron prices have more than tripled --they will sacrifice Tibet on the alter of trade.
