I want this on DVD dangit! I love Tsuburaya's effects!
-
WHOA! Did I just see that? How did they make that scene with the vapor filling back up the suit? That was incredible!
Damn.

I'll second THAT one.
My fave non-Godzilla film happens to be "Frankenstein Conquers The World" and the sequel, "War Of The Gargantuas."
Both are very moody and surreal films, due in NO small part to the fantastic musical scores of Akira Ifukube. The man really knew how to make some incredible music for these films!
Toho was once one of the most prolific (if not THE most prolific) company in the filed of this sort of work, and they were the masters of the miniature set piece!

I have the DVD in Japanese with English subs, I got it at Chiller Theatre from a very reputable dealer and the picture quality is quite nice.
The actor playing the "Gas Man," Yoshio Tsuchiya, is a Toho legend. He played Rikichi in "7 Samurai", and also in a film called "The Bad Sleep Well" again alongside Toshiro Mifune, as well as the leader of the Xians in "Monster Zero" and the dommed Mr. Shindo in "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah 1991." The man is a legend.

This definitely needs to come out on DVD in America. The English dub released there is so badly butchered with scenes cut and rearranged so out of order that the suspense and mystery is completely killed.

ANy of Ishiro Honda's film focusing on a character is fantastic. This, H-Man, Matango ... all are some of the best science fiction produced.
-
Toho released the DVD version.
-
Unfortunately, there's no DVD or VHS for that film.
Until now.

What I mean is that with regard to the Invisible Man, is that the Vapor Man shares some of the same power-hungry\career criminal tendencies.
Both characters became drunk with
their power and become bolder and bolder, only Tsuchiya's character has more stability. That's where the line is drawn.
But yes I have heard of "Tomei Ningen" I just haven't seen it. I'll have to get to it sometime!
I see you have Gasu Ningen and Denso Ningen's trailers; any chance of seeing the trailer to Bijo to Ekitainingen (The H-Man)? Three unique Toho pictures...
